He was predeceased by: his parents, James Clarence Martin and Opal Estelle Cook Martin; his son Billie Joe Martin; and his brothers, Billy Wayne Martin and Billie Joe Martin.

He is survived by: his son Rodney Wayne Martin; his stepchildren, Clyde Edwin Strickland and Cindy Jane Strickland-Saiani; his siblings, Solomon Clarence "Chief Gene" Martin and Joyce Ann Todd; his grandchild Brilee Jaiden Martin; and his close friend Mildred Herring. He is also survived by his family and friends.
