He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel F. Hucks and Della Stroud Hucks; his son Bill Harvey Hucks; his siblings, Eulee Hucks, Harvey Hucks, Boyd Hucks and Sam Hucks; his stepchildren, Carolyn F. Montgomery and Buck Ashley Byrd, Jr.; and his son-in-law David James Randolph.

He is survived by: his wife Minnie B. Hucks; his children, Genise Hucks, Elisa Hucks, Elizabeth "Susie" Randolph, Willie Samuel Hucks, Jr. (Ginnie), William Vance Hucks and Candida Rabon; and his daughter-in-law Kathy Hucks. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and other extended family and friends.
