He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Elbert and Pearl Blankenship (Shortt); his parents, Herman Carlous Blankenship and Pauline Vance Blankenship Frye; and his brothers-in-law, Freddie Lowe and Ernest "Tommy" Robinson.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Sue Lowe Blankenship; his sons, David Blankenship (Kristi) of Lexington, SC and Christopher Blankenship (Brittany) of Lexington, SC; and his granddaughter Taylor Blankenship (Matthew McKeever).
