He was predeceased by: his siblings, Jeanette Phillips, Willie Howell Collins, Elmer and Emory Collins. He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Garrick Collins; his children, Trina Collins of Cameron, Ted Lamar Collins, Jr. of Cope, Jennifer Bair (Julian) of Orangeburg and Kevin Collins (Jennifer) of Cameron; his grandchildren, Kandice Nettles (Patrick), Jordan Thackston (Cap), Cory Collins (Georgiaanne), Collin Bair, Kennerly Ann Bair, Savannah Collins (Blake Austin) and Presley Collins; his great grandchildren, Hayes, Hudson, Collins Nettles and Luke Thackston; and his siblings, Achille Collins, Jr. of Barnwell and Becky C. Bozard of Barnwell. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
One of his most lasting contributions to the church was his active role in establishing the church softball league and helping build the Two Mile softball field, which continues to serve the community today.
