He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth Thomas; his children, Tunie Thomas and Phillip Thomas II; his grandchildren, Madelyn Padgett, Heaven Gaskins and Axel Gaskins; and his sisters, Dale Cales, Mickey Thomas and Angie Lucarelli. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
