He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Gesling and Bertha Gesling (Hartung); his spouse Augusta "Rosa" (Roberts); his son Robert "Bobby" Daniel; his siblings, Richard F., Eldon "Bud" William, Albert Louis Gesling, Gene Kenneth, Gertrude M. Dennis and Ruby M. Dunbar; and his granddaughter Heather M. Johnson.
He is survived by: his sons, Herbert Michael Gesling and Joseph Marshall Gesling; his daughter-in-law Lisa Gesling; his grandsons, Marshall Gesling (Michele), Britt Gesling (Nicole) and Brent Gesling (Mary-Helen); his great grandchildren, Katelyn Gesling, Dylan Gesling, Liam Gesling, Jackson Gesling, Ginny Gesling, Rylan Johnson, Raelyn Johnson and Cole Wood; and his great great grandchild Madilyn Wood.
