She is survived by : her parents, Bobby G. Rhode and Barbara McMillan Rhode of Cottageville; her husband Mark Carter of Cottageville; her children, Amanda Carter Cromer (Cole) of Cottageville and Morgan Carter Thomas (David) of Walterboro; her grandchildren, Macie Cromer, Miles Cromer and Carter Thomas; her sister Karen Rhode Lyons (Shawn) of Cottageville; her siblings-in-law, Terry C. Harriott (Joe) of Ruffin and Steve Clough of Walterboro; her aunts and uncles, Madison, Brenda McMillan, Inez McMillan, Hazel and Frank Brabham; her great-uncle James G. Rhode of Charleston; and her children, Kimberly O'Quinn and Tasha O'Quinn. She is also survived by many cousins and extended family and friends.

“Bobby – Barbara, My deepest sympathy and heartfelt thoughts go out to both of you and your family. The loss of your daughter is a real tragedy. Even though God has already welcomed Sherry into his Kingdom it doesn’t lessen the void within your hearts and lives. God will keep you both wrapped in his love. I am unable to attend the services.
