He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse Lee Allen, Sr. and Ruby Lee Hill Allen; his son Joseph Lee Allen; his siblings, Henry Donald "Donnie" Allen and Emily Jean Floyd (Ike); and his brothers-in-law, James Wilson Carraway and Carl Randolph Carraway.
He is survived by: his wife Gladys Marie Carraway Allen; his children, Gary DeWayne Allen and Lisa Smith (Shaun); his grandchildren, Angela Smith, Shaun Smith, Jr. (Kassidy) and Mason Smith; his great grandchild Briar Allen Smith; his nephews, Julian Allen Buie (Letha), Henry Michael Buie (Annette) and Donald Scott Allen; and his siblings-in-law, Billy Carraway, Steve Carraway, Betty Allen, Shirley Carraway and Jeanette Carraway. He is also survived by great nieces and nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 13th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St Paul Church of Coward (159 E St Paul Rd, Coward, SC 29530).
