He was predeceased by: his parents, Jervey Allen Murray and Mattie Mae Connelly Murray; his former wife Doris Wiggins Murray; his wife Louise Austin Murray; and his son Richard Allen "Ricky" Murray.

He is survived by: his daughter Mary Elizabeth "Libby" Smith (Kenny) of Cumming, GA; his stepchildren, Terry Bogart (Richard) of Cross, Bruce Austin of Cross and William Austin of Macedonia; his grandchildren, Crystal Lynn Stroman (Craig) of Swansea, Kimberly Bridgette Naugler (Richard) of West Columbia and Michael Brian Smith (Jennifer) of Canton, GA; and his stepgrandchildren, Joshua, Dale, John, Jessica and David. He is also survived by thirteen great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made in Allen's memory to Sandridge Baptist Church, 4677 State Road, Ridgeville, SC 29472.
