He was predeceased by: his parents, Adger Clayton and Queenie Louise Smith Gaines; and his brother Wayne Gaines. He is survived by: his spouse Dale Cantrell Gaines of Belton; his son Jason Gaines (Laura); and his grandchildren, Janna Epting, Andrew Overton and Evan Overton.
