Pete Miller Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Pete Miller of Dalzell, South Carolina, born in Asheville, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 28, 2025 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Pete may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the echoes of his kindness, the warmth of his embrace, and the light of his enduring love.
He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Elizabeth Williams Miller; his brother Adelbert Puterbaugh; and his nephew Eddie Puterbaugh. He is survived by: his sister May DeArman; and his sibling's children, Daniele Welch (Dayna), Dawn Blackwell, Denise Manell, David Puterbaugh and Tim Hamilton. He is also survived by extended family and dear friends.
A memorial service was held on Wednesday, July 30th 2025 at 6:30 PM at the Shaw Heights Baptist Church (2030 Peach Orchard Rd, Sumter, SC 29154). A burial will be held on Thursday, July 31st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery (802 N Guignard Dr, Sumter, SC 29150).
