She is survived by: her parents, Hazel Brown Helms and Doris Blackman Helms; her husband Gary James; her daughter Charity Adams (Will); her siblings, Jane Gunter (Ken) and Frank Helms (Linda); her brother-in-law Ray Graham; her daughter-in-law Julia Byrd (Deane); her grandchildren, William Drake Adams, Jacob Zimmerman Adams, Kathryn "Kayti" Maurina Adams and Graham Stuart Byrd (Abigail); her sister-in-law Marsha Bonnoitt; and her friend Susan Matthews. She is also survived by nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins.
