He was predeceased by: his parents, Mattie Lucas DeWitt and Lonnie DeWitt; and his siblings, Lavern DeWitt, Nathaniel DeWitt, Helen Green (Buddy), Edna Mae Zimmon (Eddie), Janie Simon (Henry) and Maggie Smith.
He is survived by: his sister Mary DeWitt; his daughters, Katrina Roberts and Monyette Awkward; his niece Michelle Zimmon; and his close friend Linda Bolton. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
