He was predeceased by: his parents, Marie Rogers McGirt and Jack B. McGirt; and his former wife Susan Thomas McGirt. He is survived by: his wife P. J. Blackwell McGirt; his children, Michelle McGirt (Jim Hinds) of Florida and Carl McGirt (Jen) of Alabama; his stepson Charles Odom (Hernan); his granddaughter Alyssa McGirt of Alabama; his siblings, Ann Marie Pennington (Kimrey) of Hilton Head, Steve McGirt (Gail) of Patrick and Keith McGirt (Guillermo) of Washington, DC; and his sister-in-law Joyce Blackwell of Darlington.
