He was predeceased by: his parents, James C. Stephens and Nannie Mae Chandler Langston; his brother Darrell Stephens; and his siblings-in-law, Vernon Windham and Mary Dell Stephens.
He is survived by: his wife Shelby Stephens; his son Johnny Stephens of Lake City; his granddaughter Deborah Christenburg (Mackie) of Little River; his great grandchildren, Charity Kratz (Matt) of Conway, Susannah Prosser (Michael) of Conway, Emery, Shelby, Ford and Neva; and his sister Carolyn Rhodes (Jim) of Lamar.
