He was predeceased by: his parents, Gary E. Mims and Masie Smothers Mims; his wife Judith Powell Mims; and his brother Dick Mims (Dwight Mims). He is survived by: his daughters, Schuyler Conard (Mike) of Macon Georgia and Haylea Bowers (Jay) of Lancaster; his grandchildren, Brooks Conard, Colson Conard, Caryss Jordan, Ellisyn Jordan, Kylie Bowers, Courtney Branham (Cody) of Lancaster and Chandler Bowers (Lily) of Scotland; his great grandchild Camdyn; his close friend Marcia Anderson of Hartsville; his daughter Kristin Carpenter; Larry Brunson.

Memorials will be made to Calvary Tabernacle Church.
