He was predeceased by : his parents, Horace Parnell and Ruth Parnell; his wife Louise Suggs Parnell; and his brothers, Warren and Latha Parnell.

He is survived by : his pet Sandy; his children, Harmon Ellis Parnell, Jr. (Rhonda), Phillip Parnell (Vanessa) of Sumter, Sara Ruth Parnell of Darlington and Amy Clifton (Leslie) of Darlington; his grandchildren, Becca Parnell (Kevin Hill), Candace Wall (Billy Brasington), Hannah Durant, Derrick Blackmon (Becky Byrd), Will, Emily Johnson, Cody and Carlie Clifton; his sisters, Annie Ruth Griggs (Joe) and Peggy Farmer (late Gerald); and his sister-in-law Janice Parnell.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 24th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Sunday, April 28th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
