She was predeceased by : her parents, George Matthews and Floree Abney Matthews. She is survived by : her husband James "Jimmy" Sanderson, Jr.; her children, Jason Sanderson and Jamie Barnhill (Daniel); her grandchildren, Avery Sanderson and Willow Barnhill; her brother Everette Matthews (Cathy); her stepdaughter Elizabeth Blattner (Eli); her stepgrandchild Ainsley Blattner; and her godchildren, Dawn Kirby and Tripp Stokes.

Visitation was held on Monday, April 15th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Belk Funeral Home (229 W Broad St, Darlington, SC 29532). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 16th 2024 at 2:00 PM and at 3:00 PM.
