It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John E. Blackmon Jr. of Darlington, South Carolina, who passed away on April 10, 2026, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, John E. Blackmon, Sr. and Almeda Kelly Blackmon; and his brother Dickey Blackman. He is survived by: his children, Eric Blackmon (Sharry) and Candice Bennoit (Eric); his grandchildren, Josh Blackmon, Clint Suggs (Candace), Jesse Suggs (Katelyn), Ashley Hubbard (Jason) and Allison Gadwin Zack (Gage); his great grandchildren, Riley Gainey, Zoie Suggs, Colton Williams, Brayslee Williams and Genry Ann Williams; his siblings, Julie Rhodes (Larry) and Tommy Blackman (Pat); and his sister-in-law Mary Lou Blackmon.
