She was predeceased by: her parents, Sarah Griggs Smith and James "Jimmy" Smith of Ruby, SC.; her brothers, Tony Smith, Daryll Smith and Mike Smith; her nephew Michael Huckabee; and her niece Darcie Shoemaker.

She is survived by: her husband William "Chip" Sims; her children, Adam Watson (Alexandra) of Darlington and Megan O'Connor (Jack) of Louisville, KY; her grandsons, Seth and Julian Watson; her nephew Tyler Smith; her siblings, Sonny Smith (Jo) of Simpsonville, SC, David Smith (Jackie) of Cullowhee, NC, Gail Lynch (Richard) of Austin, TX, Angie Smith of Ruby, SC and Debbie Wilkerson of Ruby, SC; and her sister-in-law Ramelle Smith of Almond, NC.

Due to the current COVID-19 concerns, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
