With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Mother Willie Mae McCants (Darlington, South Carolina), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 10, 2025 at the age of 100. She was predeceased by: her parents, John Wesley Nevels and Annie Fleming Nevels; and her husband Albertus "Buster" McCants. She is survived by: her son Albertus "Tony" McCants (Donnie); her niece Peressa Williams; her great-niece Eyamba Daniel; her nephew Larry Brewington; her family, Dozier Simon, Elizabeth Pope, Diane Ferguson and Gwendolyn Simon; and also Triston Williams of Charleston, SC.
Viewing was held on Sunday, July 13th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Chapel of Mitchell-Josey Funeral Home, Inc. (612 S Main St, Darlington, SC 29532). A celebration of life was held on Monday, July 14th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church (1333 S Main St, Darlington, SC 29532). A burial was held on Monday, July 14th 2025 at the Faith Memorial Gardens.
