He was predeceased by: his parents, Olin B. Kirven and Gladys Atkinson Kirven; his wife Katherine Kirven; his granddaughter Kristin Hopper; his son-in-law Mike Ruff; his granddaughter-in-law Stephanie Hopper; and his sister Katherine Stewart.
He is survived by: his daughters, Kathy Ruff of Chapin and Rachel Hopper (Tony) of Gaffney; his grandchildren, Ashlon (Eleanore), Bryan (Kathryn), Chad (Megan), William (Tiffany), Leigh (Jeff), Patrick (Blythe), Matthew and David; and his great grandchildren, Trista, Hannah, Jude, Marty, Nolin, Bryson, Liza, Mary Kate, Kinsey, Max and Wyatt.
