He was predeceased by: his parents, James Jett and Julia Sellers Jett; his grandchildren, Ramon Xerod Jett and Maximun Jett Williams; and his brother Jesse James Jett.

He is survived by: his wife Arelene Williamson Jett; his children, Richard Edward Jett, Jr, Loriann King (Kenwyn), Maloria Hudson (James), Minnie Jett-Hare and Alicia Lamore Jett; his siblings, Lois Pendergrass (Jasper), Sylvia Ann Newton, Judy Hudson (James), Sylvester Jett, Leon Jett (Rose), Harvey Lee Jett (Lizzie) and Robert Lee Jett; his aunt Vera Brook Ramirez; and his uncle Ernest Jett. He is also survived by Eleven grandchildren, Eight great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews and other close relatives and friends.
