He is survived by: his sons, Robert "Rod" Gainey, Jr. and Russell Gainey (Tiffany); his grandchildren, Dalton Gainey (Sabrina), Cadence Gainey, Aidan Gainey, Ansley Gainey and Bella Gainey; his great grandchild Morgan; and his siblings, Ronnie Gainey (Anita), Lela Tyner and Blanche Gainey (Heyward).
