She was predeceased by: her parents, Sam Chavis and Ada Locklear Chavis; and her siblings, Bill Chavis, Stump Chavis, Louise Chavis, Nancy Chavis and Mary Tadlock.
She is survived by: her children, Letha M. McCormick (John) of Dillon, SC, Peggy L. Pierce (Michael) of Fairmont, NC and Buddy A. Holmes (Lori) of Rockingham, NC.; her stepchildren, Tina Strickland, Betty Ann Norton and Clarence "Bo Bo" Norton; her brother James Chavis of Fairmont, NC; her grandchildren, Brooke Roller (Thomas), Allen Holmes of Rockingham, NC and David Holmes of Rockingham, NC; her great grandchildren, Jaiden, Jace and Jacori English; and her close friends, Paulette Goins, Linda Medlin, Shirley Stubbs, Jr. and Resse Chavis.
