He was predeceased by: his parents, Lewis Hyatt and Straudi Ingram Hyatt; his sons, Bobby Ray Hyatt and Jackie Thomas Hyatt; his grandson Edward James "E. J." Moody; and his siblings, Kathleen Raynor, Blanche Mincey, Hamp Hyatt, Oscar Hyatt and Curtis Hyatt.
He is survived by: his wife Sue Hyatt of Dillon; and his children, Carolyn Newberry (Edsel) of Laurinburg, NC, Ricky Hyatt (Lisa) of Dillon and Janice Eller (Junior) of Jefferson, SC. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
