He was predeceased by: his parents, William Whiteford Brown and Nannie Elizabeth Carter Brown; his wife Geneva Herring Brown; his great grandchild Kendal Brown; and his siblings, Jessie "J. W." Brown, Margaret Ray, Linda Horne and Earl Brown.
He is survived by: his son Rant Brown (Sandra) of Dillon; his grandchildren, Whitt Brown (Taylor) of Evans, GA, Dair Lee (Evan) of Effingham, SC and Dylan Brown (Kristin) of Latta; his siblings, Barbara Hopkins of Dillon and Billy Brown of Hamer; and his close friend Kathleen Berry. He is also survived by 8 great-grandchildren.
