He was predeceased by: his parents, David Paul Long and Edith Catherine Collins Long; his wife Sharon Hayes Long; and his brothers, Kenneth and Dale Long.
He is survived by: his grandchildren, Connor and Scarlett Schoolfield; his brother D. L. Long (Chireen); and his sisters-in-law, Joan Long and Connie W. Long of Latta. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to East Dillon Baptist Church in his honor.
