He was predeceased by: his parents, Wiley Willard "Bud" Tanner, Sr. and Mary McQueen Tanner; his wife Nancy Mishue Tanner; and his siblings, Willard Tanner, Sr., Daniel Tanner, Carl Tanner and Grace Scott.
He is survived by: his sons, Gene Tanner (Sheila) of Dillon, Jimmy Tanner (Angie) of Dillon and Jeff Tanner (Kim) of Dillon; his grandchildren, Kathryn Griffey (Brendan), Caleb, Lizzie Tanner, James Tanner (Brandi Teague), Jessica, Justin, Joshua Tanner (Abby McDowell), D'Anna Tanner (Ryan Walsh) and McKenzie Tanner (Sallie Keith Page); his great grandchildren, Grayson, Michaela Griffey and Kinsley Tanner; and his sister Ann Sanderson (Gary) of Evergreen.
