Sara Ruth (Sara Ruth Garrell Stephens) Stephens Obituary

Memorial services will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday, March 4, 2018 at First Baptist Church directed by Cooper Funeral Home. Visitation will be held 2:00-3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Born in Tabor City, NC, April 30, 1928, she was the daughter of the late C.D. Garrell and Bertha Johnson Garrrell. She was a member of First Baptist Church, and was a retired Real Estate Realtor.

Survivors include her husband, Charlie Kromer Stephens of Dillon; sons, Phil (Kim) Stephens and Ben (Betty Jane "BJ"), both of Florence, SC; sisters, Berniece G. Dunnagan, Dorothy G. Hanna, and Dulcie G. Bunn, brother, Duke Garrell; grandchildren, Chad (Erin) Stephens, Marcus (Jordi) Stephens, Rachel S. (Jimmy) Ford, Carla S. (Brandon) Hardee, Carmen S. (Jaimie) Smith, Walker Stephens, and Lucas Stephens; great-grandchildren, London Stephens, Liam Stephens, Lex Stephens, Savannah Hardee, Reagan Hardee, Miller Smith, Leighton Smith, and one on the way, Ava Gray Smith.

Mrs. Stephens was predeceased by her parents, C.D. & Bertha Johnson Garrell; half-sister, Frances G. (James) Cox; brother, C.D. "Dick" Garrell, Jr.
