He was predeceased by: his parents, Van Norton Benson, Sr. and Alma Deas Benson. He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Hardwick Benson; his children, VaDonna Bartell (Vic) of Lake City, SC. and Van III Benson (Erin) of Latta, SC.; his grandchildren, Drew Benson (Cierra) of Graysville Tn, Lauren Benson of Latta, S. C. and Peyton Benson of Latta, S. C.; and his siblings, Millie Bowers of Easley, S. C., Anne Lupo of Dillon, S. C., Jim Benson (Deborah) of Rocky Mount, N. C. and Johnny Hubbard of Dillon, S. C.. He is also survived by several loving nieces and nephews.
