He was predeceased by: his parents, Asberry Washington Wood and Martha Sailors Wood; and his siblings, Jimmy Wood, Claude Wood, Alton Wood, Louise Vickery and Annie Bell Garner.
He is survived by: his wife Martha McBride Wood; his children, Russell Wood (Tracy) of Donalds and Jeanette Baylor of Greenwood; and his grandchildren, Trent, Caleb Wood, Steward, Jordan and Grant Baylor. He is also survived by two great-grandchildren.
