He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Sylvester and Della Nancy Long Quarles; his wife Emma Jean Broach Quarles; and his siblings, Lloyd Quarles, Jimmy Quarles, Bernice Walds, Christine White, Jeanette Shugart and Shirley Edgar.
He is survived by: his sons, Michael Quarles and Ronnie Quarles; his brother Durell Quarles; his grandchildren, Johnathan Quarles, Crystal Quarles, Jaylee Quarles and Elizabeth Quarles; and his great grandchildren, Ava, Logan, Semaj, Kingston, Rudy, Lillian, Jackson, Kassidy and Karington.
