With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Bessie Pittman (Duncan, South Carolina), born in Spartanburg, South Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 25, 2026 at the age of 89. She was predeceased by: her husband Larry Lee Pittman; and her parents, Pinkney Melton and Lena Russell Melton. She is survived by: her sons, Carlton "Phillip" Pittman, James Pittman (Rita), John Pittman (Kim), Mark Pittman (Stephanie), Vernon Hudson and Jeff King (Holly); her grandchildren, Rebecca King (Josh), Kacilee Pittman, Sarah Pittman (Derrick Lockhart), Dakota Pittman (Rachel), Abby King, Baylie King and Corbin King; and her great grandchildren, Jonah King, Jeremiah King, Levi Cape, Willow Lockhart, Nolan Pittman and Ellie Pittman.
A graveside service was held on Wednesday, April 29th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Wood Memorial Park (863 Gap Creek Rd, Duncan, SC 29334).
