He was predeceased by: his parents, Rupert Ward and Mary Isabel Pearson Ward; his grandmother Edith Caldwell; and his siblings, Ricky Ward, Mary Lou Taylor and Janice.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Ruth Hannah Ward; his children, William Edwin Ward, Jr. (Melissa), Mary Laura Gibson (Gregg), Beverly Lauresa Carey (Joe) and Christina "Tina" Ruth Black (Todd); his sister Patricia Pearson; his grandchildren, Alan Gibson, Zachary Gibson, Daniel Gibson (Emily), Jonathan Black (Kelsie), Hannah Lee (Cody), Mackenzie Gresham (David), Ryan Carey (Katie), Tyler Land and Mason Mobley; his great grandchildren, Harper Gresham, Noah Carey, Collins Carey and Callie Gresham; his brother-in-law Steve Hannah; and his aunt Janice Hine.
