She was predeceased by: her parents, William Henry Gilstrap and Elsie Aiken Gilstrap Trotter; her husbands, Reverend Arnold McArthur Beard and Charles Edward Simmons; her son Sydney Simmons (Gilstrap); and her stepfather Arthur Trotter (Trotter) of Pickens.
She is survived by: her children, Susan Simmons (Roy Hoyle) and Samuel Simmons (Kristi); her stepchildren, Rena Quist (Phil), Brian Beard (Laura) and Jena Edwards (Richard); her grandchildren, Jennifer Crittenden (Adam), Charles Simmons (Grace), Alexander Simmons (Ali), Cameron Simmons, Drake Kelon Brown, Cody Jacobs (Kimberly Burrell), Matthew Jacobs, Morgan Dorriety (Aaron), Victoria White (Jay Cox), Hunter Allen (Chaz), Addison Holcombe (Isaiah) and Landon Edwards; her great grandchild Cooper Crittenden; and her grandchildren, Khloe Jacobs, Devin Smith, Nolan, Jett, Sailor, Bowie and Boston Dorriety.
