She was predeceased by: her parents, Dot Tripp and Harold Tripp; her husband Edward Alexander Speed (Ed); and her siblings, Sarah Brown, Mary Robinson, Harold Tripp, Jr. and Marche Glover.
She is survived by: her children, Vicki Gaines (Joe) of Athens, GA and Edward A.; her grandchildren, Lindsey Nichols (Matt), Joshua Speed (Olivia), Joseph Gaines, Houston Gaines (Gabrielle Deliz) and Adrianne Beacham (Matt); her great grandchildren, Hannah Nichols, Hailey Nichols, Jackson Beacham, Gaines Beacham and Merritt Speed; and her sister-in-law Earlene Tripp.
