He is survived by: his wife Jennifer Cassell Matthews; his mother Barbara Jean Foster Sutherland; his children, Shane Robert Matthews (Cassie) of Easley and Heather Nicole Matthews (Don) of Easley; his grandchildren, Bella, Tyler and Brystle; and his sister Donna Shealey (Dean) of Pickens. He is also survived by several nephews; one niece; and two great-nieces.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 25th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Mountain View Funerals and Cremations (105 Florence St, Pickens, SC 29671). A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 25th 2026 at 4:00 PM at the same location.
