She was predeceased by: her parents, Grady Lee and Joella Grace Richards Simpson; her spouse Jerry Dean Shelton; and her siblings, Barbara "Bobbie" LeBuhn and Doug Simpson (Yvonne).

She is survived by: her son James Dean Shelton (Lori); her siblings, Brenda Owen of Belton and Sammy Simpson of Surfside; her grandchildren, Justin McCroskey (Amanda), Austin McCroskey, Kaylee Shelton-Hoover (Rashad), Ian Gourdin, Ashlyn Shelton, Jordan McCroskey and Jacob Gourdin; and her great grandchild Atreus Dean Shelton-Hoover. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
