He was predeceased by: his parents, Arnold Chappell and Evangeline Beck Chappell; his son Jamie Chappell; and his brothers, George Watkins, Johnny Watkins, Kenneth Watkins and Gary Chappell.
He is survived by: his wife Angie Bearden Chappell; his grandson Jacob Chappell of Easley; and his siblings, Bea Roach (Billy) of Easley, Mike Chappell (Joyce) of Easley, Dennis Chappell of Easley and Sherry Chappell of Greenville.
