Robert A. Godwin Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Robert A. Godwin of Edisto Beach, South Carolina, who passed away on January 27, 2026 at the age of 98. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Godwin and Margaret Godwin; his former wife Boodie Godwin; his wife Lenora Hall; his brother Tommy Godwin; and his son-in-law Johnny Herndon.
He is survived by: his children, Meg Herndon of Edisto Beach, Gail Greer (Jeff) of Edisto Island, Debbie Gorrell (Ron) of Walterboro, Alex Hall (Betsy) of Walterboro, Mike Hall (Melanie) of Alabama and Scott Hall (Kate) of Edisto Island. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, and a host of beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made either the Edisto Beach Baptist Church Building Fund, 414 Jungle Road, Edisto Island, SC 29438, or to Redeemer Fellowship Samaritan's Purse, P.O.B. 714, Edisto Island, SC 29438.
