He is survived by: his wife Iris Irene Pye Buenting; his daughters, Charity, Tiffany Romanchek (Chris) of Charleston, SC and Brooke Hamby (Brandon) of Summerville; his grandchildren, Marisa (Kyle), Dylan, Carson, Baylor, Riley, McKinley, Avery and Avalee; and his siblings, John Buenting (Nancy), James Buenting (Debbie), George Buenting and Cathy Fortier (Norman). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Thursday, October 29th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., West Ashley Chapel (3360 Glenn McConnell Pkwy, Charleston, SC 29414). A funeral service was held on Friday, October 30th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the J. Henry Stuhr Inc., West Ashley Chapel (3360 Glenn McConnell Pkwy, Charleston, SC 29414). A burial was held on Friday, October 30th 2026 at the Live Oak Memorial Gardens (3093 Ashley River Rd, Charleston, SC 29414).
