He is survived by : his wife Patti Ruff Smyer of Edisto Island; his children, William M. Smyer, IV of Charleston, Robert C. Smyer (Brantley) of Daytona Beach and Michelle E. Smyer (Patrick) of Adams Run; his nephews, Rhett Cathcart (Jamy) of Hendersonville and Eric Cathcart (Jennifer) of San Diego, California; his pets, Oskar, Fred, Rigby, Rodeo, Lazlo, Huxley, Pepperoni, Linda and Grip; and also Daisy.
