He was predeceased by : his parents, Spirgon Maxie and Gettie Lee Gaymon; and his siblings, John Wesley Gaymon, Robert Gaymon and Virgie Lee Poston.

He is survived by : his wife Susan Marie Gaymon; his son Maxie Jack Gaymon, Jr.; his siblings, Edward Gaymon (Arlene), Mary Lyerly (late Willam) and Betty Gaymon-Sligh (late Charlie); his mother-in-law Mary G. Coker; and his siblings-in-law, Sandra Alexander, Sharon Love (Tony), Wanda Mouzon (Charles), Scott Coker (Lois) and Michael Coker. He is also survived by nieces/great nieces and nephews/great nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cancer Center at McLeod Regional Medical Center.
