He is survived by : his wife Miriam Peay "Mickey" Carter of Effingham; his children, Pamela Carter Richardson (Ward) of Effingham and Timothy Mitchell Carter of Decatur, GA; his siblings, Steve Carter (Shirley) of Madisonville, LA, Stanley D. "Pete" Carter of Ridgeway, SC and Mary Frances Mattox of Ridgeway, SC; and his grandchildren, Gracyn Richardson of Charleston, SC, Elizabeth Richardson of Florence, Miriam Maclain Carter of Decatur, GA, Camryn Ashlyn Carter of Decatur, GA and Cullen Gates Carter of Ft. Collins, CO. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
