He is survived by: his wife Linda; his son Joseph Rigsby (Melissa); his grandchildren, Maddison, Cohen and Sullivan Rigsby; his son David Higgins (Terry); his grandchildren, Austin Higgins and Mackenzie Wall (Rob); his great grandchildren, Easton, Lathan and Drew Wall; his daughter Pamela Prewitt (Russell); his grandsons, Joseph Prewitt (Adrian) and Brian Prewitt (Nicole); his great grandchildren, Isaac Prewitt and Steven Cothran; his daughter Rachel Boland (Jimmy); his grandchildren, Samantha Furr (Corey) and Wesley Boland (Lindsey Barr); his great grandchildren, Dansby and Adilae Furr; his daughter Buffy Bowers (Clarence); his grandchildren, Wayne Rabon, Ashley Bowers, Hanna Bowers and Cody Bowers; and his friends, Tommy and Diane Wilson.

A funeral service was held on Wednesday, September 16th 2026 at 12:30 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, September 16th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Fort Jackson National Cemetery (4170 Percival Rd, Columbia, SC 29229).
