She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Thomas and Frances Godfrey Rutledge; and her brother Walter Thomas Rutledge, Jr.. She is survived by: her children, Elizabeth Jones (Russ), Marilu McGregor (Jimmy), Lynn Hudson (Billy), Sally Sherrin (late Dale), Billy Putman (Rebecca) and Alan Putman (Janice); her sisters, Ruth Rutledge Martin and Ann Rutledge Cox; her grandchildren, Rusty Jones (Monica), Christopher Jones (Donna), John McGregor (Sarah), Thama Matthews (Brian), Lou Kerwin (John), Sandi Hall (Harvin), Renee Rainey (Willis), Hampton Sherrin (Sherilyn), Trey Putman (Courtney), Daniel Putman, Allison Murphy (Johnny), Zachary Alan Hance (Bree) and Grace Putman; and her great grandchildren, Henry, Scarlett, Elena, Caleb, Leah, Genevieve, John William, Danner, Baylor, Taz, Lucy, Tripp, Rhett, Noah, Will, Isabella, Jaimee and Ansley.
A burial will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Fort Jackson National Cemetery (4170 Percival Rd, Columbia, SC 29229). Visitation will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the Blaney Baptist Church (1400 Blaney Rd, Elgin, SC 29045). A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 at 2:30 PM at the same location.
