He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse David Terry and Mary Hudson Terry; his close friend Leonard Mills; his sister Ann Thigpen of Ardmore; and his parents-in-law, Ruth Schumpert Young and Carlton Schumpert of Elko.

He is survived by: his grandchildren, Izzy and Isaiah; his wife Cindy Schumpert Terry; his daughter Kimberly Norton (Anthony) of Williston; his grandchildren, Faith Isabelle "Izzy" Norton and Christian "Isaiah" Norton; his siblings, Jimmy Winstead (Tammy) of Alabama and Joy Lynn Samples of Colorado; and his brother-in-law Larry Thigpen of Alabama. He is also survived by extended family members and friends.
