He was predeceased by: his wife Barbara Ann Main Long; his parents, Henry Framp Long and Addie Lee DeLoach Long; his sons, Jerry Varnadoe and Bobby Varnadoe; his granddaughter Jamie Varnadoe; his great grandchild Ashton Kelly Smith; and his siblings, Anna Lee Breland, Francis Long, Jimmy Long and Raymond O'Neal.
He is survived by: his children, Cheryl Eles (Laci), Debbie L. Phillips (Eddie), Margaret Bain, Mike Varnadoe and Pete Varnadoe; his grandchildren, Jay Bishop, TJ Bishop (Renee), Crystal Seckinger (Jared), Toni Graves (Justin), Lindsey Moser (Evan), Ashley Barnes (Josh), Bobby Varnadoe, Jr. (Lisa), Allen Varnadoe (Mandy) and Danny Varnadoe (Melissa); and his siblings, Clayton Long (Ellen) and Ferry Rd of Estill, SC. He is also survived by great grandchildren; nieces; and nephews.
