He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Earl Smith Sr. and Lillie Thomas Smith of Grays, SC; his daughter Nora Smith Richardson (Audrey Anna Smith); and his siblings, Edsel Smith of Florence, SC, Billy Smith of Savannah, Rose Wada of Savannah, Bessie Thomas of Hampton, SC and June Stalvey of Aynor, SC..
He is survived by: his children, Bruce Smith (Pam) of Athens, GA and Carol Ann Ayer (Birkie) of Augusta, GA; his stepson Rocky Hollingsworth (Marguerite); and his caregiver Pam Henry. He is also survived by four grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and seven great-great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Nixville Baptist Church (3915 2 Sisters Ferry Rd, Estill, SC 29918).
